Grief Therapy
A loving space for sorrow, remembrance, and healing.
“To be loving is to be open to grief, to be touched by sorrow, even sorrow that is unending.”
– Bell Hooks, All About Love
How I work with grief
Grief can be a lonely, confusing experience. You don’t feel quite like yourself. Life makes less sense. While grieving you might be surprised (and ashamed) of a happy moment, and then feel wiped out by an unexpected wave of sadness.
What I offer my grieving clients is a loving, validating presence from someone who knows her own particular experience of grief and weaves in activities in session to welcome your grief expression, however it shows up.
I am a grief-positive clinician who believes:
Grief is an expression of love
It doesn’t fully disappear, but shifts as it’s felt, understood, and integrated
Your pace is the right pace
No two people grieve alike (even two family members)
What I support
I work with a wide variety of loss and grief, and here are few areas I have particular specialization in:
sudden, unexpected loss
stigmatized loss (like suicide)
parent loss
anticipatory loss
multiple losses within a time period
