Grief Therapy

A loving space for sorrow, remembrance, and healing.

“To be loving is to be open to grief, to be touched by sorrow, even sorrow that is unending.”

– Bell Hooks, All About Love

How I work with grief

Grief can be a lonely, confusing experience. You don’t feel quite like yourself. Life makes less sense. While grieving you might be surprised (and ashamed) of a happy moment, and then feel wiped out by an unexpected wave of sadness.

What I offer my grieving clients is a loving, validating presence from someone who knows her own particular experience of grief and weaves in activities in session to welcome your grief expression, however it shows up.

I am a grief-positive clinician who believes:

  • Grief is an expression of love

  • It doesn’t fully disappear, but shifts as it’s felt, understood, and integrated

  • Your pace is the right pace

  • No two people grieve alike (even two family members)

What I support

I work with a wide variety of loss and grief, and here are few areas I have particular specialization in:

  • sudden, unexpected loss

  • stigmatized loss (like suicide)

  • parent loss

  • anticipatory loss

  • multiple losses within a time period
